SIAM-SAFE in association with Transport Department, Government
of Gujarat and Western India Automobile Association organised
a three day programme to orient the PUC centre owners and technicians
about the new norms and computerised pollution check system in
Ahmedabad from 9th to 11th September 2004.
The programme was presided over by Mr C K Koshy, Managing Director,
Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation & Chairman State Transport
Authority and Mr P V Trivedi, Transport Commissioner, Government
of Gujarat. More than 250 PUC technicians and owners were counseled
and trained during the 6 batches over the period of three days.
SIAM – SAFE organised a ‘Training and Orientation
Programme for the PUC Centre owners & technicians’ on
27th April 2005 at Indore. Mr Ashok Das, Commissioner, Indore
Division inaugurated the programme. The programme was also attended
by Mr A Mishra, Regional Officer, MP Pollution Control Board,
Mr M S D Kanodia, Assistant RTO and other senior officials from
the Automobile Industry, dealerships & institutions. Nearly
50 participants received theoretical and hands-on training on
Emission Norms, Computerisation of PUC Centres & Method of
PUC checking for both diesel and petrol vehicles
Mr Das and other stakeholders during a short informal meeting
expressed their interest in SIAM organizing awareness programmes
for schoolchildren and drivers, on road safety & vehicle maintenance
among the common people.
