Leyland on Wednesday reported an over three fold jump in commercial vehicle
sales at 7,871 units in January compared to the same month in 2009.
The company had sold 2,444
units in the same month last year, Ashok Leyland said
in a statement. Domestic sales stood at 7,460 units in January against
2,026 units in the same month last year, an over three-fold rise, it added.
Exports, however, fell by
marginally to 411 units in the month compared with 418 units in the year ago
period.
The
company also reported an over three-fold increase in its total domestic sales
of medium and heavy commercial vehicles at 7,380 units from 1,977 units in the
same month last year.
