Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, SIAM is organizing the fourth Auto Trade Dialogue on 8th January 2010 in New Delhi coinciding with Auto Expo 2010 which is being held from 5th – 11th January 2010 in New Delhi.

In the current global economic environment, global integration is acquiring a new meaning. With increased multilateralization, economies and industries across the world are intertwined. And India is actively engaged in discussions at both multilateral and bilateral platforms. Deliberations and negotiations are on with various countries and regions like Sri Lanka, Nepal, Singapore, Chile, Thailand, MERCOSUR, Egypt, Japan, EU, China, GCC, SAFTA and SACU.

The Trade Dialogue would facilitate better understanding and appreciation of the needs of the automotive industries in individual countries and regions. It would also enable convergence of Automobile industry issues across the world and identification of common concerns.

The broad objective of Auto Trade Dialogue would be to offer a platform to broad based economies to discuss issues of mutual interests and evolve strategies for addressing:
• Enhancing the understanding of the international trends and position
• Promoting trade linkages /Building partnerships
• Challenges faced by the automotive industry globally

• Convergence of Automobile industry issues across the world – common concerns.
• Facilitating understanding of various issues including developmental issues.
• Update on developments (region-wise/ country-wise) in

  • Regional and Bilateral Agreements

In the past, we had the privilege of having participants from various international auto associations like ATPC, JAMA, VDA, SMMT, TAIA, AFM, AAF, etc and Governments like USA, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, etc.

This initiative would help the planners, policy makers, both industry & government, to evolve strategies. Also, help understand the areas of concern for economies around the world.
